(AP) Giants backup Jake Layman Jersey quarterback Drew Lock left New York's preseason opener late in the first quarter Thursday night against the Lions because of a hip injury, while Detroit backup Hendon Hooker sustained a concu sion in the second half.Lock, a six-year veteran who signed as a free agent in the offseason, went to his knees shortly after throwing a deep sideline pa s on third down to Isaiah McKenzie with 2:03 left in the quarter in the Giants' 14-3 victory.
